ABOUT PAR 2017@ NINGBO
The 3rd edition of PAR was organized by the Ningbo Municipal Administration Bureau. It was held in Ningbo from 9 to 11 July 2017. Topics discussed at PAR2017@Ningbo included port resource integration, port logistics, sustainability, port safety, emergency response and security. PAR2017@Ningbo saw 14 organisations participating in the event including Port and Urban Projects Bureau, Kobe City Government, Port and Harbour Bureau, City of Yokohama, Port of Le Havre and Port of Dalian Authority who participated for the first time.

Ningbo Port is composed of Beilun Port Area, Zhenhai Port Area, Ningbo Port Area, Daxie Port Area and Chuanshan Port Area and is a multi-functional and comprehensive modern deep-water port integrated by inner river port, estuary port and seaport. Ningbo Port mainly engages in stevedoring, storage and transfer of imported iron ores, domestic and foreign trade containers, crude oil and product oil, liquid chemical products, coals and other bulk cargos. In September 2015, the Ningbo Port Co. revealed it had completed merger procedures with Zhoushan Port Co. The new company is called Ningbo- Zhoushan Port Group Co. Ningbo- Zhoushan port handled a total throughput of 24.6m TEU in 2017, an increase of 14.1% compared to 2016 volume of 23.3m TEU. Ningbo- Zhoushan port is ranked the world’s fourth busiest container port in 2017 by Alphaliner.
